Fitness and wellness are more than just working out. It’s about feeling energized, it’s moving with ease, it’s living passionately, it’s connection with other like minded people, and most importantly- it’s a connection with our self.
The athlete in each of us still exists- or maybe he or she is still craving to be unleashed! Life got hectic and in the way of our sport, fun or competitive spirit. We need to get our mojo back. Many of our clients are “executive athletes”. The executive athlete is the busy professional, business owner, and/or parent who still wants to be a part of the team, train with purpose, and know he or she has still “got it”. Time is precious. Training needs to be functional and efficient.
We believe we all have an inner athlete and that that athlete still craves competition, the positive locker room banter, being a part of something bigger. We all want to be a part of a team.
We value education, moving with integrity, community and team.
“The executive decision” refers to having the self efficacy to make individual choices in each workout. Honor your body- if something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. Do you need an alternative exercise? Just ask. You won’t be the only one. We built this culture deliberately. Make sure the benefit outweighs the risk, then choose confidently and accordingly. Focus on what IS working, yet committing the time to train the weaker links.
Our classes are designed especially for those who attend, yet offer the predictability of something pre-choreographed. At the beginning of the month, new class plans/periodizations are launched. We keep the plan roughly the same each week so the client knows what to expect, gains confidence each week and moves closer to mastery by the end of each month. Classes progress each week by adding or subtracting equipment, ROM ( range of motion), speed, sets, repetitions and/or recovery time.
Many think the “perfect body” will changes us- and our lives. Will it make us more confident? Sure. Will we attract more compliments? Possibly. If we don’t connect with, listen to and work on our inner self, our source, the cycle continues to repeat itself. We are our own point of attraction- it’s how we FEEL. We need to get you feeling good, inside and out. Positive emotion is your greatest measure of success.
We believe in training the inside as well as the outside.
Wellness coaching and individual transition plans help you get where you need to be. A great workout only works if you actually do it. Healthy eating takes preparation. Let’s dig in and see what motivates you and what may have held you back in the past. We will set SMART goals and work to establish behavior change.
What’s important to us?
YOU! It’s important the clients feel energized, safe and comfortable. You need to feel comfortable, excited and hopeful to continue and/or return. There is no one size fits all. We want you to feel you ARE part of a team. We foster healthy competition, social interaction and seek results. This isn’t a quick fix- this is lifestyle. It’s an ongoing process.
We all have a role on the team. Welcome!
What happens when HIIT collides with strength training? RESULTS! Expect Steps or BOSU, free weights and a whole lot of MOJO!
Whether five minutes is all the time you have, or you are looking for a little extra push in May, here are some five minutes faves from my BOSU® Metabolic Disruption class. My clients always have workouts like these in their “at home toolboxes” to supplement the workouts they do with me or other trainers at the club. Now you do too! If you’re thinking you don’t have time, you definitely have five minutes. If you’re thinking, “What? I can’t possibly get anything done in five minutes,” give it a shot with all you’ve got – and you can make the magic happen!
Looking to spice up your BOSU® Balance Trainer routine? There are no two ways about it, using TWO Balance Trainers together can increase the level of difficulty, elevate your heart rate, and further challenge balance and coordination. Double it up this month with a few new BOSU® exercises!
Think carefully about the clients you will inspire with each exercise or drill. Contemplate why you have chosen the exercise and how you will cue it to ensure success. Will you progress or regress with speed, range of motion, or duration? How do you want it to feel? Smooth? Controlled? Explosive? Would you like the client to achieve a certain level of fatigue or breathlessness in a particular amount of time? There are always several ways to increase or decrease intensity so be deliberate with instructions and goals.
There’s a reason my clients grab a BOSU® Ballast® Ball instead of a standard stability ball. Let’s chat!
The ball is made out of a high quality, translucent material. I’m pretty sure my clients don’t pay much attention to that, but they just know it looks and feels good.
Next, there is actually a design on the ball. Really. There are six sides with raised rings that are easily and effectively used to help with precise body positioning and alignment. Users appreciate knowing exactly how they need to be positioned for safety and performance.
